The Western Wand November 2026

Hello again everyone, 

What a month we’ve had as a club. A fantastic meeting last month with some new guests as well as former members coming along and joining in the fun. We had some great performances and the magic was in the air. 

I’m in no doubt that everyone who attended the lecture by Christian Grace were blown away by his performances and his creativity. What a very nice guy he was. When you see Nathan at the meeting, please be sure to give him a special thanks for all the work he did behind the scenes to get Christian to come by Perth before heading over east for other events. I’d be keen to see if anyone is actually doing any of the routines that Christian shared, and if you are please share how it’s going. I didn’t make it to the Masterclass but have heard some incredible things about how it was. 

Talking about Nathan Buzza, we wanted as a committee again to say how thankful we are for all his work he has put into the new website that’s up and running. I’ve been working in the background of the site and it has all the bells and whistles.

To all the former members who attended the lecture, please know that you are more than welcome to put your hand up to be full members again, as the lecture fee included credit covering membership renewal. You can do that by letting us know you want to re-join, and creating an account on the website from where you can sort out your details (see links below).

For potential new members, the same lecture credit applies and you can learn more about the joining process through the link below also. 

I’m excited to see how things will go with the next open meeting on Tuesday night. Please be there and bring along someone to share the fun on the night. We’ve got a few new members in the wings that are getting close to doing their auditions, which is super exciting.

Finally, we’ll be having another committee meeting in the next couple of weeks. So, if you have any suggestions or ideas that you’d like the committee to discuss please make sure you let us know.

2026 has been an excellent year for WASM so far. Securing the new venue has been a game changer, and the energy from our members has helped shape better meetings and attract new members. Let’s keep this momentum going!
